We now have an official Vintage Buggy baja.
So so stoked to see VB coming alive
So when I purchased this car and test drove, There was a clunking noise coming from the trans or cv’s that i was not informed of. All good paid asking price and said thank you very much.Baja went straight to the shop to remove trans, axles and cv’s. Pictures to follow soon. Called around to different shops for trans rebuild and ended up going with Kevin at KCR. He opened it up and let me know that the trans had some good parts. Close 3 and 4. We added a new reverse gear and main shaft bearing and closed it back up. At this time I sold the nice 1641 that came in the car. Thank you Craigslists. I had Jason and Scott (father and son) go through a 2180 I had laying around my garage.
So what we have done to this car so far.
2180 with dual 44 Webers. Will most likely swap for single 44
Rebuilt trans
CV’S
Throttle and clutch cables. Jimmy has his ways with these parts.
Front wheels and tires were swapped
Jimmy went through the wiring.
A huge thank you to Jimmy at Big Kids Racing for all his kindness and support. A true Airhead!
This car will be out at Dove Springs Mojave Desert this month March 24th for a shake down.
ok so the VB Baja currently has another motor swap. From the beginning a 1641 to the 2180 and now firing a 2276 and it moves out for sure. The close 3 and 4 doesn’t hurt at all. build it. This Baja has been everywhere and has always brought smiles and inspiration .
