With every car there is a story.
Da Pop was bought in Escondido CA along with a sweet dual axle trailer.
Funny, the day I planned on going to check it out my wife wanted to hang out and go haha. I had no idea what we were about to head into. I knew by the pics I viewed on the internet it was on someones property surrounded and covered in green for miles. The seller texted me his address and we headed out in the Honda CR-V. So I had no intentions on bringing her back the same day. I did have the cash in my pocket however.
OK, here we go. The address was to a trailer park on top of a large hill. Great view! The dude came out and said the buggy was at a different location and to follow him. Let me add the guy was a bit gnarly and my wife was like “what the fuck is this”?!! She followed with, did you know we had to go to a different location? I said no haha. Around 30 minutes later through the curvy roads and closer to the middle of fucking nowhere and my fuel was now getting closer to empty. I started to sweat a bit but had to keep it together. Fast forward a bit cause I am getting a bit tired of writing and got to get my kid to school. We pulled into some land with I guess kinda a fence/gate around it. The small house had boarded windows with broken glass all around. There was a cool boat to the right, a day cruiser. It need work for sure but I was like hmmm thats some cool shit. I got out with the dude looked it over and some people came out of the house. I can’t lie the situation was getting more scary and more exciting. I didn’t really want to look to much but pretty sure everyone was missing a good amount of teeth and in robes and pajamas. I think you are starting to get the picture.
I told the seller I would buy the set up. Oh let me add the buggy didn’t run and had been sitting out. I said heres 500 bucks hold deposit and I would grab it tomorrow. He aggressively said no and bee lined for his car. I was like holy fuck! I chased him down and we agreed at full cash price in his hand now and I would grab my shit the next day. Oh mother fucker!!!!
Explain that one to your wife understanding and viewing the situation that was live in front of her face. FUN STUFF!! I wish I would of got pics of the area and property but I can’t lie I was a bit nervous and taking pics didn’t feel too safe. Sorry.
Next day my buddy Greg swooped in solo and grabbed the goods. Delivered safely to my door. What are friends for right?!
We got the buggy running soon after and was a beast. Sold to one awesome family for sure and the trailer stayed with me.
During its time with me the rail was used for Men’s and Women’s Health magazine featuring Jason Momoa and Taraji Henson. A few pics to view. What a wild ride. Ya never know.
If you feel it, go for it! always!
VB passion first.
