Car built by Jake’s Fabworks and is based on their Multiple Championship winning Class 5 unlimited race car with unique features such as air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, fully functioning high beam and low beam headlights, turn signals, as well as offroad lighting provisions. The floor and suspension is identical to the JF5U race chassis, with modification to the tube work to fit as tightly as possible inside an original Volkswagen steel body. 

Chassis: Jake’s Fabworks custom build based on the JF5U race legal chassis. 4130. 

Suspension: Jake’s Fabworks Class 5U suspension. Large JF 2.0” BMF spindles 

Shocks: Front King 2.0” Coil Over and 2.0” 3 tube Bypass. Rear King 2.0” Coil Over and 3.0” 4 tube Bypass. 

Steering: Howe Diablo Power rack 2.5, Howe P/S pump, Sweet Servo. 

Hubs: ProAm racing front and rear. 

Drivetrain: Weddle HV5 transaxle. ProAm shifter. ProAm axles. 934 CV joints. Double CV boot set up. 

Engine: Motec Electronics. 2.5l Chevy Ecotec engine with DC power High output alternator. Two Bosch Fuel pumps. CBR radiator with engine oil heat exchanger built in. UMP air filter. RPM Stainless header. 

Vintage Air: Air conditioning. 

Plumbing: The car is plumbed using all aerospace grade AN fittings and hose with stainless steel hardlines through the center of the cab bulkheaded through the front and rear firewalls. 

Wiring: all wiring and Motec programming performed by Gary Powell from Proformance. Wiring is all mil-spec, booted and bonded to keep moisture out, with cannon plugs through front and rear firewalls. 

Interior: Motec Display, Motec Key pads, PCI race Radio, comm link intercom with blue tooth. Kenwood Race Radio. USB ports for iPad, phone charging etc. Wilwood brake pedal assemblies. PRP seats with seat sliders, MPI steering wheel with buttons for PTT and horn wired in. Storage box at the passenger feet. Package tray storage area. Impact gun mounted behind seats. Fire Extinguishers mounted inside with billet mounts. Turn signals. Windshield wipers and squirters 

Fuel cell: Pyrotect custom fuel cell with sender and hydromats. 

Lights: Baja Designs light bar in front. SAE LED running lights. Baja Designs tail lights. Custom Baja Designs amber and third brake light above rear window. 
Roof Rack 

Custom Storage area under the front hood that also houses the King Jack. 

Method Beadlock wheels and 35” tires. 

Paint: Powder coated chassis and then Custom paint and body from Lakeside Speed and Shine. Line X interior and key spots on the exterior. Jake’s Fabworks C5U Carbon Fiber hood and rear fenders.
